DON BAIRD

Home>Harvard>People>

I had little interaction with Don Baird and am not sure why. My guess is that he was involved in pure academic activities most of the time, but that he took summers as a chance to get out in the field and dirty his hands. His office was upstairs and I think that he spent most of his time in the classroom - at least based on the fact that I saw little of him in the lab, that would be my conclusion.

My only assessment of him is that of a kid, i.e. did he treat me well, was he respectful, did he answer questions and so on. The answer is yes to all of them. He was a quiet courteous man in my experience.  I know that dad enjoyed working with him which says something, too.

LATER: As I sort through dad’s correspondence I find that he and Don maintained a correspondence up to the ‘90’s.
