I only remember three large projects that dad and Arnie did while dad was at MCZ.
The first was a remodel that they did in the storage area of some department. I didn’t pay too much attention to the details, rather was pressed into service, receiving 35 cents and hour for my time. That was a reasonable sum, but I would have preferred to sleep in. They always did this job on weekends because they took it on as an extracurridular job that (a) saved the university money because they could do it cheaper than the contractors had bid, and (b) they obviously could not do this work in place of the regular work for which they were hired.
