Princeton

I read in some of dad’s writings that Princeton ran the Cleveland-LLoyd quarry in Utah for years. During its tenure as the supervisory agent, it acquired the parts to build a complete Antrodemus skeleton.  He said that it was through the publicity about the Kronosaurus mount that Princeton became familiar with him and Arnie as preparators.  Princeton sent out feelers and in the end an agreement was reached between Princeton, Arnie, dad and Dr. Romer that Arnie and dad would prepare the skeleton in the MCZ lab on weekends so that  their regular work would not be interrupted.
When the parts were trucked down to Princeton, Joe O’Leary went along to assist in the installation, although I can’t find him in any of the few photos that are available of the process. Dad mentions Joe in one of  his documents.
There were enough slides to prepare two galleries, one concerning the process at Harvard of preparing the bones, and another of the installation process at Princeton.  The slides were old so need to be reprocessed. I have asked Rod Scheetz to loan them to me again so I can improve their color, meantime let’s live with what we have.

Princeton: Prepare Antrodemus at MCZ

Princeton Antrodemus - assembling

I don’t know what the business relationship was between Harvard and Princeton where the salary of Dad and Arnie are concerned. I did see in one of dad’s letter that when Joe O’Leary went to Princeton for the last week to help finish the installation, thta Princeton reimbursed Harvard directly for Joe’s salary for that week.  But was the the relationship for Dad and Arnie? I don’t see how it could be otherwise, but given the length of time required to preapre a complete skeleton for mounting, it must have taken several months of their time.
